lingered absently in purpose
minds apart knew why they came
only to be disconstructed
making sense of stranger's ramblings
on the stage of passing events
you never stopped, you never knew
your own self could be renewed
and they showed you the way
telling time spent absently
in the time spent continually
they wanted a new thing
for you, they said, it would be better
to just forget everything
leave it lingering on, in the past present future mix
wanting to remove yourself from the present tense
they took you away, and made you say
what was meant by that day, in time you would be removed
and forgotten, long ago added, and in addendum changed
addled brains represent old troubles fashioned new
and you forgot, for it was too late for you to even remember now
